Transformation after Breast Cancer

There is no rule book when it comes to being diagnosed with breast cancer. It's true, there is no rule book but information can be empowering. Here are a few suggestions to help you manage the changes your body will undergo as you navigate your way back to health. We have seen many women struggle with body changes and be mislead by all the misinformation circulating online. I can tell you that you can still wear pretty clothes and feel good about yourself. Tell everyone you are working on your transformation.

Be ready for change; Your body has been through a lot. There is more change to come as you continue to heal and of course there is the natural ageing process. It's okay, just know that it will happen. If you are concerned about the changes happening, see your doctor for advice.

If you're not up to doing your own research, ask a tech savvy friend or family member to do it for you. Knowledge is power.

Music is a magical mood enhancer. It can make you feel relaxed, happy, and invigorated. Put on the toons for an instant boost.

Find the support you need with those you trust. It may be a family member, a peer group, a friend, or a psychologist. When you find that special person or group, don't be afraid to reach out for help.

Make time for what you love. Reading, sports, playing with children, crafts, walking the dog, or meditation. Schedule time for what you love.

Pets and furry friends can lower blood pressure and put a smile on your face. If you don't have pets visit a friend that has one.

Try art therapy. Keep it simple. Grab some pencil crayons, finger paints, or some playdough and bring out your inner kid.
